Tillandsia Tectorum Ecuador Care Instructions
Tillandsia Tectorum is fairly easy to grow. Take your air plants out of the box as soon as they arrive. Follow the easy steps in the air plant care guide included to get started.
+ Water +
Mist your Tillandsia Tectorum 2-3 times a week until the leaves are moist to touch. You will notice that the trichromes (the thick fuzz) will begin to stick to the leaves of the plant. You can also soak your Tectorum about once a week but make sure you set the plant somewhere to good air circulation and let it dry out completely within 4 hours. It is preferred to mist this plant rather than soak it since it takes longer for the Tectorum to dry out. Gently shake off any excessive water from the leaves of the air plant after each watering. Be sure to let the plant dry out completely before watering again. Do not put it under the sun or near heaters/AC units as intense heat and cold temperature can damage the plant.
+ Light +
Tillandsia Tectorum does well indoors but likes bright, indirect light. Keep this plant away from direct sunlight as this will cause the leave tips to dry out.
+ Air +
Tillandsia Tectorum does best in warm environments between 50 – 80 F. It needs good air circulation and some humidity as well.
